Hi there! So glad you’re here.

It’s a win for both of us! You get full access to my musings and I get an email telling me someone out there wants to read my work.

Who’s behind Sanzi Says?

A very imperfect mother of three boys. A perfect wife (somewhere he laughs!) A former teacher and dean of students. An education advocate. A blogger. A local newspaper columnist. Director of Outreach at Parents Defending Education. An inconsistent maker of dinners and lists. A total work in progress with a grateful heart and a bit of a temper at times.

What you can expect…

  • Chalk Talk My thoughts and reactions to education stories in my neck of the woods and around the country driven by one simple question: Does it give students the opportunity to become the best version of themselves? I am not a teacher basher—I was one for a decade and love lots of teachers. But students are and will always be my north star.

  • The MotherLand Tales of motherhood that will hopefully get you to laugh (or at least crack a smile) and maybe even say, “thank God I’m not the only one.” If you’re looking for a Type A mom who doesn’t like drive-thrus, my apologies in advance.

  • G&G I have two fluffy dogs—Griffey and Gracie. (Attention baseball fans, Griffey is named after Ken Griffey Jr.) I’ll share cute pics of them from time to time because why not? Gracie is also known as Laundry Dog because she will find any pile of clothes — or piece of clothing —and lie right on it.
