Really pleased that you called out Tim Duffy. Long past due..he's been a shill for the teachers' unions for as long as he's been in the RI political circle. Always wondered if there was ever a time that he actually understood the role of school commitees in RI. I also recall that he has consistently testified against any form of school choice and against the bill to reverse the current "legality" of sexual encounters by adults in schools with minor students.

He has always testified against "right to read" bills.

Thank you for the article. I called this out at last night’s Barrington, RI SC mtg where our Chair is on the RIASC BOD. I’m not the only one here who has addressed this with her/the SC with no reply. But we’re not giving up.

I think I watched that footage. Am I right that as of now, only Foster-Gloucester has passed a resolution to withhold membership dues from RIASC?

Gloucester passed, then regional Foster-Gloucester. On Burrillville agenda for Tuesday.

And heard added to EG next week, too. (Haven’t checked yet.)

@ES, if you expect the Chair of the Barrington RI SC, Gina Bae, to do something, you will be sorely disappointed. She does not blink without permission from the former SC Chair, Megan P. Douglas, the real puppeteer behind the throne. Oh, and don't forget the third wheel, Erika Sevetson. She completes Barrington's local version of "The Squad," or at least that's how they like to think of themselves. All 3 are dismissive of legitimate concerns brought up by parents, students, and taxpayers. Megan P. Douglas, especially, is particularly arrogant, and ultimately decides how the SC votes on the issues.

I’ve spoken at all but one, maybe two regular mtgs since August where they and Messore lied from behind their cowardly masked faces to my bare face that no mask mandate was made. Yet that day, TM Jim Cunha made town EO with it, citing SC had already mandated so he was just including it in his EO. While SC said Cunha made the order so they had to go along with it. Liars.

Lying and deflecting is their modus operandi. Mike Messore and Paula Dillon use word salad to confuse and conflate the issues. If you really want to know the extent to which these people don't care, search for the public comments in SC meetings starting in 2020. Last year, tons of students, parents, and taxpayers, spoke against "de-leveling" the high school curriculum to no avail.

Nope no expectation whatsoever other for them to continue to act abhorrently. And fully aware of Douglas and Sevetson. Unfortunately, Douglas’s seat is not up, but Bae’s and Sevetson’s are.

Let's hope two strong candidates will rise up to dethrone these tyrants.

You know it's political - he defends the NK school committee member who is a darling of the union against a recall (a political event) and NK is NOT EVEN A RICAS member...
